Choosing dining furniture
Allow about 60cm of table edge for each person, and leave around 90cm between the table and the wall so chairs can be pulled out. Round tables suit smaller rooms and keep everyone in the conversation; rectangular tables seat more along a wall.
Check the seat height of a chair against the height of the table: most dining tables are about 75cm high and most dining chairs have a seat height of 45 to 48cm. Counter stools are for kitchen islands and breakfast bars.
