Two beds that fit the room, rather than the other way round. The Kingston builds as a classic straight bunk bed, or turn the lower bed 90 degrees for an L-shaped corner bunk that frees up the space under the top bunk for a desk, a reading corner or somewhere to play. It's made in France from 15mm and 22mm particleboard, in a warm oak finish paired with soft Cashmere. The top bunk is for children aged 6 and over, and the whole bed is backed by our 5-year guarantee.
Storage is built into the frame. A four-shelf unit stands at the end of the bed, with shelves about 19cm deep, and there's a 94 x 35cm shelf under the top bunk plus a slim 35 x 7cm ledge for a book, phone or night light. Under the lower bed, a pull-out drawer (about 154 x 43 x 24cm, measured outside) takes bedding and toys. Each bed has a solid base panel with ventilation holes, so no slats are needed.
It can be built left- or right-handed to suit your space. The corner layout needs noticeably more floor than the straight bunk, 204cm by 223cm against 208cm by 133.5cm, so measure before choosing it. The Kingston arrives flat-packed in 5 boxes with step-by-step instructions. If you'd rather not build it yourself, add Professional Assembly on this page before checkout. The delivery team build it in the room you choose and take the packaging away, so the bed is ready to sleep in the day it arrives.
Both bunks take a continental single mattress, 90cm by 200cm. That's 10cm longer than a standard UK single, so the bed still fits as they grow into their teens. The top bunk's guard rails are designed around a mattress no deeper than 15cm. That figure is a safety measurement, not a suggestion: a deeper mattress raises the sleeping surface and leaves less rail above it. Our ComfortSleep 15, MemoryDream 15 and PocketRest 15 all come in continental single, and the MemoryDream 15 is the one we'd put on each. The Kingston is made to BS EN 747, the safety standard for bunk beds. Hang nothing from the frame, and re-tighten the fixings every few months.

Room fit
As a straight bunk, the Kingston takes up 208cm by 133.5cm of floor. The corner layout needs a 204cm by 223cm space, so measure before choosing it, and leave room in front of the lower bed to pull out the drawer. It stands 171cm high (172cm as a corner bunk); allow about 70cm between the top mattress and the ceiling for a younger child to sit up, and 80 to 90cm for a teenager.
Questions parents ask
Can it be built as a corner bunk?
Yes. Turn the lower bed 90 degrees for an L-shaped corner bunk, which frees up the space under the top bunk for a desk, a reading corner or somewhere to play. It needs more floor (204cm by 223cm), so measure first.
Which mattresses do I need?
Two continental singles, 90cm by 200cm, no deeper than 15cm. They're 10cm longer than a standard UK single, so there's room to grow. The MemoryDream 15 is the one we'd put on each bunk.
Do I need slats or a base?
No. Each bed has a solid base panel with ventilation holes, so you only need the two mattresses.
