A house-shaped frame for their first big bed. The Star Light House Bed is the simplest bed in Mathy by Bols' Star Light range: a low bed under an open, house-shaped frame, so little ones can climb in and out on their own.
It's handmade to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols, from PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests, and finished by hand in water-based lacquer that meets EN 71-3, the European toy safety standard for paint. There are 26 colours to choose from, and a matching touch-up stick comes with the bed.
It's suitable from age 3. Because it's made for your order, allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. It can't be returned as a change of mind, but faults and damage are covered in full. It comes ready for self-assembly.
It takes a UK single (90cm by 190cm), a continental single (90cm by 200cm), a small double (120cm by 190cm) or a continental small double (120cm by 200cm) mattress, depending on the size you choose. The mattress isn't included; the roll-up slatted base is.

Room fit
The single takes 222cm of wall and comes 96cm out from it. At 129cm high to the top of the frame it suits most rooms, including under a sloping ceiling if you measure first.

What's the difference between the House Bed and the Hut Bed?
The House Bed is the open frame. The Star Light Hut Bed adds coloured side panels and a guard rail, or panels with a roof and a shelf.
What age is it for?
From age 3. It sits low, so little ones can get in and out on their own.
Can I choose any colour?
Yes. All 26 colours are listed on this page, at the same price. If you'd like to see a colour sample first, just ask.
