A little house of their own. The Star Light Hut Bed is a floor-level house bed with coloured side panels under a natural pine frame.
Choose side panels and a guard rail, or go all the way with panels, a roof and a shelf.
It's handmade to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols, from PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests. The solid pine frame is finished in a natural varnish and the panels are lacquered by hand in your choice of 26 colours, in water-based lacquer that meets EN 71-3, the European toy safety standard for paint. A matching touch-up stick comes with the bed.
It's suitable from age 3. Because it's made for your order, allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. It can't be returned as a change of mind, but faults and damage are covered in full. It comes ready for self-assembly.
It takes a UK single (90cm by 190cm), a continental single (90cm by 200cm), a small double (120cm by 190cm) or a continental small double (120cm by 200cm) mattress, depending on the size you choose. The mattress isn't included; the roll-up slatted base is.

Room fit
The single with panels and guard rail takes 222cm of wall and comes 101cm out from it; the version with a roof and shelf needs 228cm by 104cm. Both are 129cm high, so they suit most rooms, including under a sloping ceiling if you measure first.

What's the difference between the two styles?
Both have coloured side panels. The first adds a guard rail; the second adds a roof and a shelf.
Is there a simpler version?
Yes. The Star Light House Bed is the open frame without panels.
Can I choose any colour?
Yes. The pine frame is varnished and the panels come in any of Mathy's 26 colours, all listed on this page at the same price. A fully painted or two-tone finish is available on request, so just ask.
