Some beds get slept in. This one gets lived in.
The Treehouse Bed puts a proper cabin in the middle of your child's bedroom. A pitched roof, cut-out windows to look through, and boards deliberately left uneven so it reads as a real treehouse rather than a moulded imitation of one. Underneath, an open space that becomes a den, a reading corner, or a home for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else.
It is made to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols, designed by François Lamazerolles, from a solid pine frame with a birch plywood ladder and PEFC-certified E1 MDF panels. Every bed is finished by hand in one of 26 water-based lacquer colours, so what arrives has been specified for one bedroom and built for it.
Mathy have been making children's furniture in the same Belgian workshops since 1987. The offcuts from production heat those workshops.
All 26 colours are listed on this page, at the same price.
Each bed is built and painted for your order. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks from order to delivery. Because it is made to your specification it cannot be returned as a change of mind, though faults and damage are covered in full. If you would like to see a colour sample first, just ask.
The Treehouse Bed comes in three sizes, for a UK single (90cm by 190cm), a small double (120cm by 190cm) or a 140cm by 190cm double mattress. The mattress isn't included; use one no deeper than 12cm, so the guard rails stay at their full height. The perforated base comes with the bed, so there's no extra base to buy.

Room fit
The Treehouse Bed takes 229cm of wall and comes 139cm out from it (169cm for the small double, 189cm for the double). It's 205cm high to the top of the roof, so a standard 2.4m ceiling leaves about 35cm above it; if your ceiling is lower or slopes, measure where the bed will stand before ordering. Decide which side the ladder and windows go before you build, as the layout is set during assembly.
Questions parents ask
Can I choose any colour?
Yes. All 26 colours are listed on this page, at the same price.
Which mattress does it need?
One to match the size you order: a UK single (90 x 190cm), a small double (120 x 190cm) or a 140 x 190cm double, no deeper than 12cm, on the perforated base that comes with the bed.
Can it become a bunk bed later?
Yes. Mathy build it as a system, so it can later take a slide kit or convert to a bunk if a sibling arrives. Ask us and we'll tell you exactly what your bed will accept.
