Eli Mid Sleeper Bed with Desk & Storage

The Eli is a mid sleeper built around a pull-out desk. The desk has shelves built in and a curved edge, and when homework's done it slides back under the bed, where it doubles as a bedside shelf. It's a clever way to give a small room a desk without giving up any floor.

You choose how much storage goes underneath. The desk-only version leaves the rest of the space open for a beanbag or a den. Add one or two free-standing storage units and you get cubby holes with doors in the same colour as the bed ends, which can sit under the bed or be moved elsewhere in the room.

The frame is Scandinavian pine, with MDF bed ends in white or sky blue. Wide ladder steps and high guard rails make it a confident climb for a child aged 6 or over, and the ladder fits on the left or the right. It takes a continental single mattress, 90cm by 200cm, no deeper than 15cm. That figure is a safety measurement, not a suggestion: a deeper mattress raises the sleeping surface and leaves less rail above it. The 15cm mattresses shown above are made for it.

Room fit

The Eli takes 209cm of wall and 127cm of floor out from the wall, including the ladder. With the desk pulled out it needs 208cm, so leave room in front for the desk and a chair. It's 120cm high, so it suits most bedrooms; allow about 70cm between the top of the mattress and the ceiling for a younger child to sit up.

What's the difference between the storage options?
Desk Only has the pull-out desk and leaves the rest of the space open. Single Storage adds one free-standing storage unit and Double Storage adds two, each with cubby hole doors to match the bed ends.

Can the ladder go on either side?
