Richmond High Sleeper with Corner Desk & Bean Bag

The Richmond puts the whole of an older child / teenager's room under one bed. A corner desk that wraps around two sides, so the laptop and the books get their own ends, and an Extreme Lounging bean bag in the space beside it for when the homework's done.

The bed sits at 139cm, which is a proper high sleeper, and that's what makes the space underneath work. There's room for a desk chair, a bean bag 94cm tall and still headroom above both. Solid grey throughout, plain and modern rather than childish, which is the point: it's a bed for a teenager who'll be at that desk for the next five years, and it holds an adult too.

The bean bag is the part people underestimate. It's made in the UK by Extreme Lounging in a tough water-resistant fabric, it holds its shape rather than collapsing, and it's light enough to drag out when friends are over. 94 x 99 x 80cm, sized to sit under the bed without taking any more floor.

Full-length guard rails on both sides with a gap for the ladder, which builds on the left or the right, so the desk can face whichever way the room needs. Wide flat treads rather than round rungs.
