Sienna Guest Bed with Trundle

The Sienna is a single bed that turns into two. Under the main bed is a second bed on wheels, a full UK single, that pulls out sideways when someone's staying and slides back under when they've gone. When it isn't a bed, it's the deepest drawer in the room.

It's the bed we sell most of, and it's easy to see why. A teenager gets a proper bed with a headboard, shelves and drawers, and a friend can stay without a blow-up mattress on the floor. A spare room gets a bed that looks like furniture six days a week and sleeps two on the seventh. And a family that's about to have another child gets a bed the older one can share.

The headboard has three open shelves, a bigger one in the middle and two smaller ones either side, for a lamp, a book, a phone and whatever else lives by a bed. Three shallow drawers slide out from the side, 47cm by 39cm and about 10cm deep, right for pyjamas, socks, a few books and chargers rather than bulky bedding. The headboard, the drawers and the trundle can all be built on either side, so the bed fits the room rather than the other way round.

It's in stock and delivered next day on most orders, which on a bed is rare. Flat-packed for self-assembly, with a clear set of instructions, and it's a floor bed, so it's a straightforward build.

You'll need two mattresses, both standard UK singles at 90 x 190cm. The main bed takes up to 20cm deep. The trundle needs one shallow enough to slide under the bed with the trundle sides around it, and the TrundleEase 10 shown above is made for exactly that. The MemoryDream 15 is the one we'd put on top. Two children need two, and it's easy to forget the second one.
