The Burford Family Bunk sleeps up to four. The bottom bunk is a full UK double, big enough for two children to share or for a parent to lie down and settle a younger one, with a standard single up top and an optional pull-out trundle underneath for sleepovers or a third child. Both bunks have a built-in shelf, so everyone has somewhere for a book, a lamp and a glass of water that isn't balanced on the guard rail.
Each bunk has a full-length shelf, 14.5cm deep, with cubby holes beneath it, so there's no bedside table to find room for. The bottom bunk has 83.5cm of headroom above the slats, enough for an adult to sit up and read a story. The trundle does two jobs: pull it out and it's a fourth bed, push it in and it's a deep drawer for bedding and toys.
Built in solid Scandinavian pine in a Cashmere finish, a soft neutral between taupe and grey, with the structural parts in solid timber and MDF only on shelf backs and panels. The wider base gives the frame extra stability. The ladder fits on the left or the right. If you'd rather not build it yourself, add professional assembly at checkout. The delivery team build it in the room you choose and take the packaging away, so the bed is ready to sleep in the day it arrives.
It takes three mattresses. The top bunk takes a UK single, 90cm by 190cm, and its guard rail is designed around a mattress no deeper than 15cm. That figure is a safety measurement, not a suggestion: a deeper mattress raises the sleeping surface and leaves less rail above it. The bottom bunk takes a UK double, 135cm by 190cm.
The mattresses shown above are matched to both bunks, and the MemoryDream 15 is the one we'd put on each. The trundle is different: it needs a mattress that slides under the bottom bunk, and the trundle mattress shown above is made for it. Two for the bunks, and a third if you have the trundle.
