Return Policy

These beds are made to order. Yours is built and hand-painted in the size and colour you choose, so it doesn't exist until you order it. That means returns work a little differently to the rest of our range.

Before we release your order to the workshop, you can change or cancel it for a full refund. Just email us. We'll confirm the date your order goes into production so you always know where you stand.

Once production has started, we can't take the bed back as a change of mind, because it has been made to your specification and can't be sold to anyone else. Please choose your size and colour carefully, and do ask us for a colour sample first if you're unsure.

If something is wrong, that's a different matter. If your bed arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or not as described, your legal rights are unaffected and we'll put it right with parts, a repair or a replacement. Send us your order number and a few photos and we'll take it from there.

We're a family-run UK business. We'd far rather help you get the choice right first time than have you stuck with something that isn't quite right.

The Sterling Wooden Bunk Bed is built for strength that lasts. Made in Britain and rated to a maximum user weight of 20 stone (127kg) on each bunk, top and bottom, it is engineered to be slept in for years by children, teenagers and adults alike. Every berth is built to take a fully grown adult, which makes it as at home in a guest room, holiday let or house-share as it is in a child's or shared sibling bedroom.

Around a solid, heavy-duty timber frame, the Sterling feels rock steady and rattle-free night after night, with a sturdy integrated ladder and a full-length guard rail on the top bunk for secure, confident access. Two full single sleeping areas sit within the footprint of one, freeing up floor space without any compromise on build quality.

Because it is made here in Britain rather than mass-produced overseas, the timber and fixings are chosen for longevity, and it is backed by a 12-year guarantee, one of the longest you will find on any bunk bed. It is the bunk families and property owners choose when they want one built to be used hard and last for years.

Our raised beds meet BS EN 747, the British standard covering guard rail height, structural strength and gap sizes. Slatted bases for airflow, smooth edges and child-safe fixings throughout. We're family-run, and if we wouldn't put our own children in it, we wouldn't sell it.

Will it fit?

Almost always, yes. Standard UK ceilings are fine, so it's only worth checking if your room has low or sloping ceilings. Allow 50 to 60cm of clear floor in front of the ladder. Not sure? Send us your room measurements and we'll tell you what fits.

The right mattress, already chosen

Guard rails sit a set distance above the mattress, so one that's too deep reduces that margin. You don't need to work it out: the mattresses shown with this bed are the ones we recommend for it, matched to the right size and within the maximum depth.

Age guidance

The top bunk of a bunk bed and the platform of a high sleeper are for children aged 6 and over, as set out in BS EN 747. Younger children can use the lower bunk safely.
