Underneath the waterproofing it's a proper mattress rather than a plastic sheet. A 5cm reflex foam comfort layer over a 10cm eco foam base gives a medium feel that suits a growing child, and at 15cm deep it's the right depth for bunk beds and high sleepers where guard rail height matters.
