Balmoral High Sleeper with Desk, Pull-Out Chair Bed & Shelves

The Balmoral is our most complete high sleeper: a full raised bed, a proper study desk, generous shelving and a pull-out corner sofa that folds down into a second single bed for sleepovers. It is three pieces of furniture in the footprint of one, giving a child or teenager everything they need without the room ever feeling crowded.

Sleep up top, study and relax underneath. The raised bed opens up the whole floor below for a desk built for real homework and a comfortable corner sofa that pulls out flat when friends stay over. A clip-on bedside shelf is included, so there is always somewhere close at hand up top for a phone, a glass of water or the book they are halfway through.

Because the desk, ladder and sofa bed can each be fitted on the left or the right, the Balmoral suits almost any room whatever the door, window and wall layout. It is a bed designed to grow with them, from their first proper "big kid" bedroom right through the teenage years.

Will it fit?

There's 136.6cm from the floor to the underside of the bed, so with a 15cm mattress the sleeping surface is a little over 150cm high. Allow about 70cm above the mattress for a younger child to sit up comfortably, and 80 to 90cm for a teenager, which means a ceiling of around 2.25m or more. The frame takes up 208.3cm by 126cm of floor including the ladder, plus room for the sofa bed to pull out.
