Three beds, one footprint. The 196 stacks three beds in the floor space of one, in smooth solid pine, with the bottom bed close to the floor.
It's made to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols in smooth solid pine from PEFC-certified forests. Choose a natural varnish, one of three stains (honey, light walnut or pastel white) or any of Mathy's 26 water-based lacquer colours, all at the same price. The finishes meet EN 71-3, the European toy safety standard for paint. Pine is a natural material, so the grain and the odd knot show through, and the wood mellows over time. A touch-up stick comes with the bed.
The upper bunks are for children aged 6 and over. It's made to EN 747, the European safety standard for bunk beds. Because it's made for your order, allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. It can't be returned as a change of mind, but faults and damage are covered in full. It comes ready for self-assembly.
It takes a UK single (90cm by 190cm) or continental single (90cm by 200cm) mattress, or a small double (120cm by 190cm), for each bed, so you'll need three. Use a mattress no deeper than 15cm on the upper bunks (17cm including the slatted base), so the guard rails stay at their full height. Mathy sell their slatted bases separately, so we've included them.
