Mathy by Bols Treehouse Bed with Platform and Slide

The Treehouse Bed with Platform and Slide gives the treehouse a landing and its own way down: a raised platform off the foot of the bed, and a slide from it to the floor.

The cabin has a pitched roof, cut-out windows and boards deliberately left uneven, like a real treehouse, with an open space underneath for a den or a reading corner.

It's handmade to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols, designed by François Lamazerolles, with a solid pine frame, a birch plywood ladder and MDF panels made from PEFC-certified wood from sustainably managed forests. Every bed is finished by hand in water-based lacquer that meets EN 71-3, the European toy safety standard for paint. There are 26 colours to choose from, and a matching touch-up stick comes with the bed.

It's for children aged 6 and over. Because it's made for your order, allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. It can't be returned as a change of mind, but faults and damage are covered in full. The roof and side panels arrive already assembled, so you join large sections rather than building from flat components.

It takes a UK single (90cm by 190cm), a small double (120cm by 190cm) or a 140cm by 190cm double mattress, depending on the size you choose. Use a mattress no deeper than 12cm, so the guard rails stay at their full height. The perforated base comes with the bed, so there's no extra base to buy.

Room fit

The single with its platform and slide takes 262cm along the wall and comes 179cm into the room. It's 205cm high to the top of the roof, so a standard 2.4m ceiling leaves about 35cm above it. Leave clear floor space at the bottom of the slide, and decide which side the platform goes before you build.

Questions parents ask

Which side does the slide go on?
Either. You choose left or right when you put the bed together.

Is there a version without the platform?
Yes. The Treehouse Bed is the same cabin without the platform and slide.

Can I choose any colour?
Yes. All 26 colours are listed on this page, at the same price. If you'd like to see a colour sample first, just ask.
