Return Policy

These beds are made to order. Yours is built and hand-painted in the size and colour you choose, so it doesn't exist until you order it. That means returns work a little differently to the rest of our range.

Before we release your order to the workshop, you can change or cancel it for a full refund. Just email us. We'll confirm the date your order goes into production so you always know where you stand.

Once production has started, we can't take the bed back as a change of mind, because it has been made to your specification and can't be sold to anyone else. Please choose your size and colour carefully, and do ask us for a colour sample first if you're unsure.

If something is wrong, that's a different matter. If your bed arrives damaged, faulty, incomplete or not as described, your legal rights are unaffected and we'll put it right with parts, a repair or a replacement. Send us your order number and a few photos and we'll take it from there.

We're a family-run UK business. We'd far rather help you get the choice right first time than have you stuck with something that isn't quite right.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I return my order if I change my mind?

Yes of course - you can cancel or return your order within 14 days of delivery, as long as it’s unused, unassembled, and in the original packaging.

What if my item arrives damaged or has a fault?

No stress - we’ll put it right quickly. If something arrives damaged, missing parts, or faulty, contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos/videos, and we’ll arrange the fastest solution (usually replacement parts or a repair, and a replacement/refund if needed).

Can I return a bed after it’s been assembled?

Change-of-mind returns aren’t possible once an item has been assembled.

However, if there’s a confirmed manufacturing fault, it’s still covered and we’ll support you with parts, repair, or the correct resolution.

Can I return a mattress if it’s been opened?

For hygiene reasons, mattresses can only be returned if they remain sealed in their protective packaging (unless faulty). If you’re unsure before opening it, just message us and we’ll happily advise.

Description

Some beds get slept in. This one gets lived in. The Treehouse Bed puts a proper cabin in the middle of your child's bedroom. A pitched roof, cut-out windows to look through, and boards deliberately left uneven so it reads as a real treehouse rather than a moulded imitation of one. Underneath, an open space that becomes a den, a reading corner, or a home for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else. It is made to order in Belgium by Mathy by Bols, designed by François Lamazerolles, from a solid pine frame with a birch plywood ladder and PEFC-certified E1 MDF panels. Every bed is finished by hand in one of 26 water-based lacquer colours, so what arrives has been specified for one bedroom and built for it. Mathy have been making children's furniture in the same Belgian workshops since 1987. The offcuts from production heat those workshops.

Features

Reversible roof and window panels. The layout can be flipped during assembly, so the windows and the ladder end up where your room wants them rather than where the factory decided.
26 hand-applied colours. Water-based lacquers, applied by hand. A matching colour stick comes with the bed for screw ends and the inevitable knocks.
Designed to grow. Mathy build this as a system, not a single product. The same bed can later take a slide kit, or convert to a bunk if a sibling arrives. Ask us and we will tell you exactly what your bed will accept.
Open space underneath. Room for a den, a beanbag and a reading lamp, or for storage if that is the more pressing problem.
Made in Belgium to order. Solid pine frame and feet, birch plywood ladder, PEFC-certified panels from sustainably managed forests.
Perforated bed base included. Airflow under the mattress, and no extra base to buy.

Choosing your colour

Only four colours are shown online. All 26 are available. If the one you want isn't listed, message us on WhatsApp, email or call and we will set the order up for you. If you'd rather order straight away, select White and leave your colour choice in the order notes at checkout. We will confirm it with you before your bed goes into production.

Made to order

Each bed is built and painted for your order. Please allow 3-4 weeks from order to delivery. Because it is made to your specification it cannot be returned as a change of mind, though faults and damage are covered in full. If you would like to see a colour sample first, just ask.
