Ashwell Extending Daybed with Underbed Drawer

The Ashwell is a single day bed that opens out into a much bigger bed. Day to day it's a sofa-style single with a panelled back and ends, two single mattresses stacked on the base. When family come to stay, the frame pulls out and extends so the two mattresses lie side by side, 180cm across, as wide as a super king.

It's made from solid pine in a traditional white and oak lacquered finish, with solid wooden slats under the mattresses. The version with the underbed drawer adds a deep pull-out drawer for bedding and sleepover kit, so everything a guest needs is already in the room.

It takes two UK single mattresses, each 90cm by 190cm. Two 10cm mattresses keep the backrest as high as possible when they're stacked as a day bed; for higher seating and older children you can use mattresses up to 15cm deep.

As a day bed the Ashwell takes 199cm of wall and 99cm of floor out from the wall. Extended, it needs about 180cm out from the wall, so check the room has that clear before guests arrive. At 79cm high it suits any ceiling height.
