About the Hadleigh
The Hadleigh Velvet Upholstered Bunk Bed sleeps two, with a full UK single on each level. It gives siblings a bed each without using the floor space of two separate frames, leaving more room for toys, a desk or somewhere to play. Both bunks take the same mattress size, so everyone gets the same amount of sleeping space.
Padded velvet ends with button detailing give the Hadleigh a softer look, with upholstered panels around the upper bunk and an integrated ladder for climbing up. Choose Grey for a cooler neutral or Taupe for a warmer finish. Both work with different bedding on each level, so children sharing a room can still make their own space feel like theirs.
At 135cm high, the frame keeps the overall height modest while providing two sleeping levels. Each bunk has a wooden slatted base, with the slats joined by webbing and spaced 7cm apart. The bed requires self-assembly; follow the supplied instructions and check all fittings before use.
Both bunks take a UK single mattress, 90cm by 190cm. The top bunk must have a mattress no deeper than 19cm. That figure is a safety measurement, not a suggestion: a deeper mattress raises the sleeping surface and leaves less guard rail above it. The bottom bunk isn't raised, so it can take a deeper mattress if you prefer.
The bunk mattresses shown above are matched to this type of bed, and the MemoryTeen 18 is the one we'd put on each. At 18cm deep, it sits within the top bunk’s mattress limit and lets you use the same mattress on both levels. You'll need two mattresses, one for each bunk; these are sold separately.

Room fit
The Hadleigh takes up 205cm by 109cm of floor space, including the ladder, and stands 135cm high overall. Leave clear floor beside the ladder so children can get in and out easily, and check that nearby doors, drawers and wardrobes can open fully.
If the ceiling is low or slopes, measure above the position of the top bunk and allow enough clearance for your child to sit up comfortably. The frame’s overall height is not the height of the sleeping surface, so check the space above the fitted mattress as well as the space around the bed.

Which mattresses do I need?
You'll need two UK single mattresses. The top mattress must be no deeper than 19cm, and the MemoryTeen 18 shown on this page is the one we'd choose for both bunks. At 18cm deep, it stays within the upper bunk’s 19cm limit. Mattresses are sold separately.
Is it suitable for younger children?
The Hadleigh is specified for children aged 6 and over and is not suitable for children under 6. Follow the age guidance and safety instructions supplied with the bed.
Can the bottom bunk take a deeper mattress?
Yes. The depth limit is there for the guard rails on the top bunk. The bottom bunk isn't raised, so a deeper mattress is fine if you'd like more comfort. A deeper mattress does take a little headroom from the space under the top bunk.
