Is delivery really to a room of choice?

Yes - all beds include Room of Choice delivery (where safe access allows), so your items can be delivered inside the room you need, not just the doorstep.

Can I choose a delivery date?

On many bestselling items, yes. If your product qualifies, you’ll see a delivery date picker on the product page or at checkout. If not, it simply means there’s a longer lead time and we’ll contact you as soon as it’s ready to book delivery.

Will I get tracking and delivery updates?

Absolutely. Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive tracking updates by email, plus a 3-hour delivery window (usually the day before). Where available, the driver will also give a 60-minute courtesy call before arrival.

Can I place an order now and delay delivery?

Yes absolutely. If you’d like to secure the item now but arrange delivery for later, we can hold your order for up to 4 months.

Simply place your order as normal and leave a note at checkout (or email us straight after ordering) with your preferred delivery timing, and we’ll work with you to book a date that suits.

Can I return my order if I change my mind?

Yes of course - you can cancel or return your order within 14 days of delivery, as long as it’s unused, unassembled, and in the original packaging.

What if my item arrives damaged or has a fault?

No stress - we’ll put it right quickly. If something arrives damaged, missing parts, or faulty, contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos/videos, and we’ll arrange the fastest solution (usually replacement parts or a repair, and a replacement/refund if needed).

Can I return a bed after it’s been assembled?

Change-of-mind returns aren’t possible once an item has been assembled.

However, if there’s a confirmed manufacturing fault, it’s still covered and we’ll support you with parts, repair, or the correct resolution.

Can I return a mattress if it’s been opened?

For hygiene reasons, mattresses can only be returned if they remain sealed in their protective packaging (unless faulty). If you’re unsure before opening it, just message us and we’ll happily advise.

The Bramley Mid Sleeper packs sleeping, storage and a proper study space into one clever, floor-saving frame. It's ideal for smaller bedrooms and for children who need room to sleep, work and play without the clutter.

Raised off the floor, the bed frees up the space beneath for an integrated cupboard with a roomy shelf, plus open shelving for books, toys, games and clothes. The pull-out desk rolls out on smooth castors to give a dedicated spot for homework and drawing, then tucks neatly away when it's not needed. A built-in bookcase at the end of the desk adds even more storage for everyday bits.

Finished in crisp white, the Bramley suits any bedroom and grows with your child from the early years through to their teens. It's crafted from high-quality MDF and wood for a sturdy, long-lasting frame, and straightforward home assembly with clear instructions makes setup simple.

Safety by design

Every raised bed we sell is built to meet BS EN 747, the British standard for bunk beds and high beds. It covers guard rail height, structural strength, and gap sizes that could trap a child.

As standard across our raised beds:

Full-length guard rails on the open sides of the upper sleeping surface
Fixed ladders or steps with deep treads
Slatted or perforated bases for airflow beneath the mattress
Smooth edges and child-safe fixings

Before you order

Two measurements save most of the problems we hear about.

Ceiling height. Check this bed's overall height in the Dimensions section above, then allow enough room for your child to sit up comfortably in bed. For most high sleepers that means a ceiling of at least 2.3m.

Ladder and door clearance. Allow 50 to 60cm of clear floor in front of the ladder, and check that wardrobe doors, desk drawers and the bedroom door all open freely once the bed is in place.

Getting the mattress right

This is the most important safety choice you'll make, and it's specific to each bed. The mattresses we sell with our beds are recommended for a reason.

Check the maximum mattress depth in the Dimensions section above, and don't exceed it. Guard rails are designed to sit a set distance above the mattress surface. Too deep a mattress reduces that margin and the rail stops doing its job. The limit varies from bed to bed, so please don't assume it's the same as one you've owned before.

Match the mattress size exactly to the base. Too small leaves gaps at the edges; too large won't sit flat.

Age guidance

The upper bunk of a bunk bed, and the sleeping platform of a high sleeper, are not suitable for children under 6. This is the guidance set out in BS EN 747, and it exists because younger children don't yet have the coordination to use a ladder safely at height, particularly at night.

Younger children can safely use the lower bunk. If you're buying for a child under 6, a low sleeper is the better choice, and the age guidance for each bed is given in its description.

Assembly

Allow around 1.5 to 3 hours and two adults. Lay the parts out in the room the bed will stay in, build the main frame before fitting the guard rails and ladder, and have one person steady the frame while the other tightens.

Check every bolt is fully tight and the frame sits level before your child sleeps in it. If you'd rather not, our assembly team can build it in the room of your choice and take the packaging away.

Ongoing checks

Every few months, and more often with an active child:

Re-tighten all bolts and fixings
Check the guard rails are still firm
Check the ladder or steps are secure

Please don't hang ropes, skipping ropes, belts or bags from the frame, and keep the raised sleeping area clear of ceiling lights and fans.
