Classic Bed with Sleepover+Storage Trundle

A simple, well-made first proper bed with a trundle underneath that does two jobs. Most of the time it's a huge storage drawer for toys, bedding and everything else that ends up on the floor. Add a trundle mattress and it becomes a second bed for sleepovers, cousins and grandparents, then rolls back under when they've gone.

The frame, bed rails and slats are solid pine, painted in Pure White, with tongue-and-groove detailing on the headboard that works in a modern room or a traditional one. The foot end is kept low, so the room feels more open, a small bedroom doesn't feel crowded, and younger children can get in and out easily.

The trundle runs on castors that move in any direction, so it glides out smoothly on carpet or a hard floor. Solid wood slats under the main mattress let it breathe, and the paint is tested to BS EN 71-3 for toxicity. It's suitable from age 3, and it's a straightforward self-assembly of about 90 minutes.

The main bed takes a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190cm. The trundle takes a smaller mattress, 76 x 183cm and no more than 14cm deep, so it still rolls fully back under the bed. Please do choose our recommended mattresses for this bed.
