Little Folks Edit Loft Bed with Desk and Futon Chairbed

The Edit is a high sleeper built from solid beech, a hardwood, rather than the pine most high sleepers use. Beech is harder and denser, so the frame is stiffer, stands up to knocks better and holds its painted finish for longer. It has a mid-century feel, with lozenge-shaped cut-outs in the ends and an upright ladder with wide, flat treads that fits at either end.

Underneath, it's a study and a snug in one. The desk rolls out on lockable castors, so it can sit beside the bed, tuck sideways behind the ladder, or slide lengthways along the back when you want the floor. Next to it, the futon chair is somewhere to read or game, and it unfolds into a proper guest bed for sleepovers, with its own 10cm futon mattress included.

It's made for older children, teenagers and guest rooms: sleep, study and somewhere to sit, all in the footprint of a single bed.

Choose Pure White, or two-tone natural beech and Pure White, with a choice of futon cover colours. The paint is tested to BS EN 71-3 for toxicity.

The bed takes a standard UK single mattress, 90 x 190cm, no deeper than 15cm. That depth is a safety limit: a deeper mattress raises your child above the guard rail. The MemoryDream 15 shown above is the right size and depth.

The frame must be fixed to a wall or the building structure. It's a minimal self-assembly, about two hours, and the upper bed is for children aged 6 and over.
