Little Folks Furniture Classic Detachable Bunk Beds

A bunk bed for now, two proper beds later, and a third bed underneath for sleepovers. The Classic is made from solid hardwood, not pine: the end frames, bed rails and ladder are all hardwood, which is harder, stronger and far less prone to dents than the soft knotty pine most bunk beds are built from.

It splits into two full-size single beds, the kind an adult can sleep in, so when the children want rooms of their own, each gets a bed that lasts. Or keep one as a bed and turn the other into a daybed. Either way nothing is wasted.

Underneath there's a trundle on castors with a solid base. Put a mattress on it and it's a third bed for friends and cousins; leave it empty and it's a big drawer for bedding and toys. It rolls back under the bottom bunk when it's not needed.

At 158cm tall it's lower than many bunks, which suits rooms with sloping or lower ceilings. The ladder has wide treads and fits at either end. Painted in white or dove grey, with finishes tested to BS EN 71-3 for toxicity, and solid wood slats that let the mattress breathe.

You'll need two standard UK single mattresses, 90 x 190cm, with the one on top no deeper than 15cm so the guard rail stays effective. The trundle takes a smaller mattress, 76 x 183cm, not a standard single, so check the size before you order one. The top bunk is for children aged 6 and over.
