About the Oakley
The Oakley triple sleeps three: a full UK double on the bottom, with room for two children to share or for a parent at bedtime, and a UK single on top. It has solid panelled ends and chunky corner posts in knotless rubberwood, and each sleeper is rated to 25 stone (158kg), so it's suitable for teens and adults too, and a good fit for guest rooms and holiday lets. It's detachable too: when the time comes, it splits into a single bed and a double bed.
It comes in a warm oak finish or white. The top bunk has full-length guard rails, and the angled ladder can be fitted on either side. There's 28cm under the bottom bunk for storage boxes, or for the optional pull-out trundle.
The top bunk takes a UK single, 90cm by 190cm, no deeper than 15cm, so the guard rail stays high enough above it. The bottom bunk takes a UK double, 135cm by 190cm, and isn't raised, so it can take a deeper mattress if you prefer. The mattresses shown above are matched to both levels.
Choose the trundle version and it sleeps four. The pull-out trundle comes in the same oak or white finish, on castors, with its own memory foam trundle mattress made to fit it, and it slides away under the bottom bunk when it isn't needed. Only the trundle mattress is included: the mattresses for the two bunks are sold separately.
The Oakley triple arrives flat-packed for self-assembly, with full instructions. It's a two-person build. If you'd rather someone else did it, there's a link to book a local assembler below the returns policy. Delivery is free, in 1 to 3 working days, and it comes with a 5-year manufacturer's guarantee.

Room fit
The Oakley triple needs 206cm of wall and 148cm out from the wall, plus 50 to 60cm of clear floor in front of the ladder. With the trundle, allow about 100cm in front of the bed to pull it out. It stands 166cm high. Standard ceilings are fine for this bed, with room for a child to sit up on the top bunk.
Questions parents ask
Can two children share the bottom bunk?
Yes. The bottom bunk is a full UK double, 135cm by 190cm, with room for two children to share or for a parent to lie down at bedtime.
Can I add a trundle?
Yes. Choose the trundle version and it comes with a pull-out trundle in the same oak or white, on castors, with its own memory foam trundle mattress made to fit it. It slides under the bottom bunk when it isn't in use. The mattresses for the two bunks aren't included with the trundle version, so add them separately.
Can it be split into two beds?
Yes. It separates into a single bed and a double bed.
Is it strong enough for teenagers or adults?
Yes. Each sleeper is rated to 25 stone (158kg), and the frame is solid knotless rubberwood, so it's suitable for teens and adults too.
Can the bottom bunk take a deeper mattress?
Yes. The 15cm limit is for the guard rails on the top bunk. The bottom bunk isn't raised, so a deeper mattress is fine.
Has it been safety tested?
Yes. It has been independently tested to BS EN 747, the British standard for bunk beds and high beds.
Can the ladder go on either side?
Yes. The angled ladder fits on the left or the right.
How high does my ceiling need to be?
Standard ceilings are fine for this bed, with room for a child to sit up on the top bunk.
