Wilton High Sleeper with Desk, Wardrobe & Storage

The Wilton is a high sleeper with a bedroom's worth of furniture underneath it. A single bed on top, and below it a built-in desk, a hanging rail for clothes, open shelves and a storage drawer, all in one white frame. It's for children aged 6 and over and designed to see them through to their teens, so it suits a smaller bedroom where a separate desk and wardrobe won't fit. It comes with a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee.

There's 144.1cm from the floor to the slats, which leaves room for a proper work and storage space underneath. The desk has 75cm of height beneath it and gives a dedicated spot for homework, drawing or gaming. The hanging rail gives wardrobe space for clothes, while the open shelves and the drawer take books, folded clothes and everyday bits, so they're organised and off the floor.

You climb up by an easy-grip ladder, and the sleeping platform has high sides. The Wilton arrives flat-packed for self-assembly, with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, and delivery is free in 2 to 5 working days. If you'd rather someone else did it, there's a link to book a local assembler below the returns policy.

The Wilton takes a standard UK single mattress, 90cm by 190cm, no deeper than 15cm, which sits on the slatted base that comes with the bed, so there's no separate base to buy. The MemoryDream 15 is the one we'd put on it.

Room fit

The Wilton takes 195cm of wall and comes 123.5cm out from it. The slats sit 144.1cm from the floor, so with a 15cm mattress the sleeping surface is about 159cm high. Allow about 70cm above the mattress for a younger child to sit up and 80 to 90cm for a teenager, which means a ceiling of about 2.3m for a younger child, or 2.4 to 2.5m for a teenager.
